Ode to the Road Campaign

The campaign launched at the Outdoor Retailer Show that summer, followed by the release of a 7-part mini-series. Each week, we invited our brand partners and fans to join us as we unveiled a new episode, highlighting a different aspect of our brand and sharing the stories of the people we encountered along the way.

Alabama Hills Photoshoo

Our road trip kicked off in the Alabama Hills, where we joined ambassadors Brody Leven and Ted Hesser for a weekend of exploration, climbing, and photography. Capturing the beauty of this stunning location was no easy task, but our crew managed to create images that truly did it justice.

Ice Cream on the PCT.

Thru-hikers on the Pacific Crest Trail truly embody the "Get out, Stay out" mentality, trekking 2,650 miles over four months. When a Goal Zero colleague, a former PCT hiker, proposed powering a trail magic station for stop two on our road trip, we jumped at the opportunity. Our crew set up at Walker Pass Campground (mile 645) and, with the help of Katie Boue and Spaghetti, treated grateful hikers to ice cream, brats, beers, and more.

Off-Grid Dinner Party.

Set on a lush bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, we gathered the Goal Zero community for a farm-to-table meal prepared by a local chef. Using Sous-vide, induction plates, and portable fridges powered by Goal Zero Power Stations, the chef created a gourmet taco bar with ingredients sourced from nearby vendors, including fresh vegetables from an on-site aquaponic greenhouse.

Shipping Container Build in Joshua Tree.

When Ben Uyeda built his vacation home in the desert, he needed a way to power his tools without access to the grid. With plenty of sunlight, he relied on solar power to charge his battery-operated tools during construction. On our road trip this summer, we visited the container house and set Ben up with an energy storage system for backup power in case of an outage.

Giving Light to Monument Valley.

For years, the Goal Zero team has visited the Navajo Nation to install solar power in homes that previously depended on gasoline or car batteries. At stop five on our road trip, we met up with photographer Mylo Fowler in the stunning Monument Valley. While there, we stayed in traditional Hogans, enjoyed authentic Navajo food, and discussed the impact of solar power on local families with Mylo.

Cake Bikes in Moab.

From the very beginning, Goal Zero has been fueled by a passion for adventure and innovation. To cap off our 10-year anniversary road trip, we spent several days exploring one of our favorite spots on earth with fellow adventurers and innovators. We teamed up with the creators of CAKE bikes and photographer Travis Burke to ride electric off-road motorbikes through Moab.

CAKE bikes, designed with a focus on respectful exploration, are leading the way in clean, quiet electric motorbikes. During our desert adventure, we kept the bikes charged off-grid using Goal Zero products, ensuring a sustainable ride on the iconic Slickrock trails.
